Speed Without Control is Just Noise
Many experienced developers and writers type fast, but they "hunt and peck" or rely on improper finger placement. This limits your top speed and causes fatigue.
You might hit 60 WPM, but if you're looking at your keyboard or using the wrong fingers, you haven't built muscle memory. In the age of AI, where your thought process is the only bottleneck, don't let your fingers slow you down.

FAQ
What is the proper hand position?
Wrists Elevated: Keep your wrists floating slightly above the desk or keyboard wrist rest.
Natural Curve: Your fingers should curve naturally over the home row keys (ASDF JKL;).
Light Touch: Press keys with minimal force. Heavy typing causes fatigue and slows you down.
How is WPM calculated?
Words Per Minute (WPM) credits only words you submit fully correct: (characters in correct words, including the space after each, ÷ 5) ÷ minutes. A word with an error still in it when you press space adds nothing.
60+ WPM: Fluent typist - good for most professional work
80+ WPM: Advanced typist - efficient for coding and writing
Why use the Home Row?
Rest your fingers on A S D F (left hand) and J K L ; (right hand). The home row is the foundation of touch typing:
Feel the bumps on F and J to locate home position without looking
Each finger has dedicated keys, reducing movement distance
Return to home row after each keystroke for consistent accuracy
